In episode 33 we talk all about how Jacqueline actually found and began talking to her eating disorder therapist. We talk about how she was struggling for years before getting help since she “looked fine and healthy” on the outside. Everyone told her she lost weight and looked great. Jacqueline knew something was not right but did not know how to get the help she needed. She shares how she had to speak up and be an advocate for herself and for her mental health. We discuss what she did to get the help she needed and how she knew that this therapist was the right one for her. Jacqueline gets emotional in this episode because we dive in deep about how being open, vulnerable, and honest with yourself is the most important thing when it comes to recovery and how coming face to face with these challenges can be hard and scary, but so very important. There is no one size fits all when it comes to recovery and Jacqueline shares her path and what she is doing to help her overcome her own struggles. We know it can be scary to ask for help or admit you may be struggling, but asking for help is the strongest thing you can do.
We hope this episode gives you a little more insight into Jacqueline’s journey and how she found her eating disorder therapist and how she is continuing to keep moving forward one step at a time to live her best life possible. Hopefully, this episode can encourage you to keep doing what is best for you, how important it is to be an advocate for yourself, and to remember it’s ok not to be ok all of the time.
